A Brilliant Repeat Booking for Service Express
/Our 5-piece corporate bandeoke show with awards stings at Horwood House, Bedfordshire
A perfect space in Horwood House’s Cook Suite
Horwood House in Little Horwood, near Milton Keynes, was the setting for this Service Express sales conference, with around 60 guests in the Cook Suite main ballroom. We were booked for our 5-piece show, alongside our live awards stings support service earlier in the evening, which added extra momentum to the proceedings before the main interactive show began. The room gave us a perfectly sized big stage and a smart hotel-space setup to optimally accommodate our sound & lights production, making it a great fit for a corporate bandeoke event comprising an awards segment. Awards stings that lifted the evening
This was especially nice for us because it was a repeat corporate booking and they wanted to again include our ‘Stings awards support service’.
Before the main show, we provided live stings for the awards section, with guitar, bass, drums and keys playing short musical snippets as recipients walked up to the stage. It is a small production detail, but it adds a surprising amount of energy and polish to a conference or awards night.
There was also one unintentionally funny moment, when an award was announced for someone who was not actually there, so we kicked off the sting and nobody appeared. It gave everyone a laugh and became one of those memorable little live-event moments that helps relax the room.
A great stage, plus one logistical challenge
The Cook Suite worked really well for a 5-piece setup. Having a big stage meant the show felt comfortable from the outset, with enough room for the band, singers and the general flow of the evening.
The main challenge was that the bar was in a different room. That can easily split the energy at a corporate event, especially before the audience singing is fully under way. We responded by heading into the adjoining bar area and actively encouraging people back into the ballroom, which worked well and helped turn the room back into a focused, lively crowd.
Strong engagement and a format that worked again
The main show then ran as one longer set, which suited the timings well and kept the momentum up. Once people started stepping forward for songs, the atmosphere built quickly and the room really came together.
What stood out most was the response from the client. At the end of the night, the CEO came over and said, “this really works, thank you so much”, which was a lovely way to round things off.

Client Feedback
It is always particularly encouraging when a repeat client takes the time to leave feedback after the event:
“Great Entertainers, Professional Experience.
This is the second time we’ve used this company and both times they were exactly what we hoped for. They are engaging, professional, and sound great too. We even had some logistical challenges with the bar in a different room and they consistently did their best to draw people from there and was successful in getting a lot of people to perform. Would definitely use them again.”
FAQs
Can bandeoke work well for a corporate awards evening?
Yes. This event is another good example of that - and the live awards stings are a perfect extra service helping the presentation section feel more dynamic - the main bandeoke show then carried that energy into the rest of the night.
How much stage space do you need for a 5-piece live band karaoke show?
A proper sized stage is ideal for a 5-piece setup, especially at a corporate venue where you may also have presenters and guest singers using the space. We always advise our clients with ideal specs for optimal results; and Service Express arranged a more than perfect 8m x 4m stage, which helped both the awards support and main show run smoothly.
Can live band karaoke still work if the bar is in another room?
Yes, but it helps to have an experienced team who can read the room and bring people back into the action. At this event, that was one of the logistical challenges, and it was handled successfully on the night.
