Charlie & Sarah’s marquee wedding with The Bandeoke Experience
/A spacious marquee setup on a private farm, with our 6-piece live band karaoke show and extended disco finish
Set on a private farm near Wareham in Dorset, Charlie & Sarah’s wedding gave us one of those marquee setups that makes the whole night flow properly from the start. Around 150 guests, a well-sized 6m x 4m stage, our 6-piece show, speech mic service and a disco/sound/lights upgrade running through to 1am all meant the foundations were there for a brilliant party. The countryside setting was beautiful, the marquee looked spot on, and the couple were completely up for it from the outset. If you’re planning a live band karaoke wedding in Dorset or the South West, this is exactly the kind of setup that shows what works so well. Get in touch to check availability for your date.
A marquee wedding setup that gave the night room to breathe
This was a really well-planned private farm wedding, and credit to the couple for trusting our advice on the practical side. The marquee had the space to do everything properly: dining, speeches, stage area and party space, without anything feeling squeezed.
The stage itself was 6m x 4m, which is ideal for our 6-piece setup. That matters more than people sometimes realise. It gave the band and guests room to perform comfortably, helped sightlines for guests, and made the whole show feel bigger and more polished.
Earlier in the day, we also provided our speech mic service. A key detail here was speaker positioning: one high-quality speaker was placed to cover the main audience, with another positioned discreetly for the top table side of the marquee (see the gallery below). That helped the speeches feel clear and natural for the room, while avoiding awkward delays for the people actually speaking.
From Crocodile Rock to an epic Angels finale
We kicked things off with Crocodile Rock at the couple’s request, then hit a few full-band dancefloor numbers to get the energy up quickly before moving into the bandeoke part of the night.
The groom launched the guest-led section in exactly the right way with Let Me Entertain You, which set the tone straight away. From there, the sign-ups kept coming and the room stayed with it. The song choices had real range too: Kids for the bride and groom, Like a Prayer, It’s Raining Men, Zombie, Country Roads, Proud Mary, Go Your Own Way and more.
Then came Angels to close the night, with Charlie back on the mic for a proper hands-in-the-air ending. It was one of those wedding finales that lands because the room has built to it naturally.
Why the 6-piece format felt extra special here
Most of our bookings are for the 5-piece, with the 4-piece also a popular choice, so it is always a real pleasure when a couple go for the 6-piece show. It gives the sound a bit more width, a bit more punch, and just that extra sense of occasion for a big wedding party.
For a marquee wedding like this, with 150 guests and a strong singing crowd, it was a great fit. The extended disco through to 1am helped too, appropriate for this audience and private venue setting, keeping the energy going well beyond the main live set.

Client’s Feedback
A lovely note from Sarah afterwards, followed by a cracking Trustpilot review that really captured what the night felt like:
“Hi Ross! We’ve been meaning to email you guys to say THANK YOU SO MUCH. You were all completely amazing – the whole show was so smooth and professional – and everyone had THE most amazing time. Would be DELIGHTED to leave a review. Thanks again - hope the rest of wedding season has been a blast!”
“Ross, Oscar and the Bandaoke team played at our wedding and they were FANTASTIC. The communication in the run-up was excellent and really ensured that the show went smoothly. Not only are they all incredibly talented musicians – but they are so generous, sharing the stage with anyone who fancied a sing-song - and making us all feel like total rockstars (even if you mess up the words, they are total pros and will style it out!). It was SUCH a fun, different, hilarious version of a wedding party and we are so thrilled we booked them. 10/10 would recommend!!”
FAQs
Can live band karaoke work well in a marquee wedding setting?
Yes — marquee weddings can work brilliantly for bandeoke, especially when there is enough room for a proper stage area, clear audience sightlines and sensible speaker placement. This Dorset setup was a very strong example of that.
How much stage space do you need for a 6-piece wedding bandeoke show?
As a guide, around 6m x 4m is an excellent amount of space for a 6-piece show. It gives the band room to perform comfortably and helps the whole setup look and feel more premium for guests.
Do you provide speech microphones and disco upgrades as well as the live show?
Yes. We can provide speech mic setups, plus disco, sound and lighting upgrades to extend the party after the live performance. For weddings like this, those extra practical details can make a big difference to how smoothly the whole evening runs.
