Voyageur Group’s farewell dinner at Harbour Hotel Southampton

On 1 May 2025, we brought The Bandeoke Experience to Harbour Hotel Southampton in Ocean Village for Voyageur Group’s end-of-conference celebration — doubling as a warm send-off for their retiring MD. The show took place in the Bow Room with around 130 guests, using our 5-piece setup on the venue’s smaller-than-ideal stage (we made it work!). The Bow Room setup: small stage, big energy (and those harbour views)
The Bow Room is a brilliant-looking space — especially in the evening, with views across the harbour that give the room a real sense of occasion. Acoustically it can be a little lively, so we kept everything tight and controlled: clear vocals up front, band balanced underneath, and the right amount of volume to keep it exciting without turning the room into a wash.
Stage-wise, it was compact, but that actually helped the vibe — singers felt close to the band and the audience, which always makes the whole thing more interactive.
Load-in logistics: shared lifts, stairs… and a smooth guest flow
Worth noting for anyone planning a similar venue: load-in here can take a bit of time, as you’re working via shared lifts or stairs. The good news is we coordinated timings with the hotel team and the organiser so we didn’t clash with guest movement, meaning we could get kit straight in, build efficiently, and be ready to roll without stress.
Conference to celebration: the moment the room tipped into “proper party”
This one had that satisfying shift from corporate to carefree. Once the first few singers jumped up, the confidence spread fast — and suddenly we had a queue of guests ready to have their moment with a live band behind them. We also liaised with the singing waiters on the night to coordinate who was doing what and when — we often work alongside other entertainment, and a quick on-site run-through makes the whole evening flow better.
