Alan’s 50th Birthday Bandeoke Bash at 100 Barrington

A 6-piece live band karaoke show in Brixton

Alan’s 50th birthday took us back to 100 Barrington in Brixton, South London, for a lively private party with around 100 guests, a 6-piece show and a disco extension through to 12:45am. This is a venue we know well, with direct street-level access, no stairs and the performance area set at the back of the room. For this London Bandeoke party, we fed our mix into the venue’s in-house PA, added our own monitoring and extra lighting, and engineered the full show from our desk. Planning something similar? A 6-piece live band karaoke show in Brixton with disco to 12:45am

100 Barrington worked well for this style of birthday party: one main room, easy access from the street and a compact performance area at the back.

There was no raised stage, so the layout needed to stay practical. With a 6-piece band, monitoring, guest vocalists and occasional groups coming forward, we allowed the performance area to breathe slightly into the room rather than keeping everything too tight.

The venue supplied the main PA speakers and some stage lighting. We provided the mixing desk, full monitoring, show control and extra lighting to support the live band karaoke feel, then sent a feed from our desk into the in-house PA.

Advance sign-ups kept the night moving

This was a very well-prepared birthday crowd. A strong number of singers had already chosen songs in advance, which always helps the evening flow: guests arrive knowing what they’re singing, the band can prepare, and the performances tend to feel more confident.

There were also more sign-ups on the night than we could fit in, which is always a nice problem to have. It gave the room a real “who’s up next?” energy and kept the party moving from the first singers through to the final section of the evening.

Song highlights from Alan’s 50th

The set list covered a big spread of party favourites, including Sweet Caroline, Suspicious Minds, Livin’ on a Prayer, Wrecking Ball, Don’t Stop Me Now, No Diggity, 500 Miles and Don’t Stop Believin’.

Alan took to the mic for Just Can’t Get Enough by Depeche Mode, and the night finished with a brilliant indie/Britpop run: Mr Brightside, Common People and Don’t Look Back in Anger.

Client’s Feedback

Alan kindly followed up after the party and also left a 5-star Trustpilot review.

“Thank you! I was thrilled with Bandeoke at my birthday party. I have left a 5 star review on Trustpilot 😊”

I hired The Bandeoke Experience to play at my 50th birthday party for 100 guests in South London. They had come recommended from a friend and we were not disappointed.

The planning / booking process was easy and they were straightforward to deal with.

On the day, the set-up worked seamlessly and then, on the evening, the band were great. I am grateful to them for making the event so different to a standard party.

Can Bandeoke work at 100 Barrington in Brixton?

Yes. For Alan’s 50th, we set up at the back of the room, used the venue’s in-house PA system and provided our own mixing desk, monitoring, show control and extra lighting.

Can a 6-piece live band karaoke show work without a stage?

Yes, provided the room layout is managed carefully. At 100 Barrington, there was no raised stage, so we allowed the performance area to come forward slightly to make space for guest singers and groups.

Do advance song requests help at a birthday Bandeoke party?

Definitely. Advance sign-ups help guests feel more prepared, give the band time to organise the flow, and usually lead to stronger performances on the night.
