Global Gala Dinner in Vienna
/Our client was looking for a top level rockaoke act as part of their entertainment for an end of conference gala dinner for an international pharmaceutical company. The firm host an event annual in different places throughout Europe. We were asked whether we did bandeoke overseas? The answer was a definite yes, having previously delivered a high-profile event for Walt Disney the previous year. We were ready for our next bandaoke overseas adventure.
We flew in to an absolute sub-freezing Vienna, Austria’s magnificent capital; the client hired in all of the gear to spec and even surpassed themselves on some items, which was much appreciated (e.g. 4x12” Mesa-Boogie guitar-amp stack for Ross, Foo Fighters style, lovely 😉), so all we had to do on arrival was warm up, have a little lie down then off to sound check.
On conclusion of the gala dinner and the formal part of the evening, Ross & Gemma did a short 4 minute pitch to introduce the show and how it was going to work, breaking the ice (and there was plenty of real ice on and around the hotel!) and letting the audience get to know us a bit.
With approximately 150-200 guests from across the globe, the client’s original concern was for us to be able to unite a group of disparate nationalities - that’s what we do, we had said, and that’s what we did – bringing this international group together in rousing song.
